Swim Lane Diagram - Horizontal
The swimlane diagram is a very useful tool for creating flow charts of work processes. This is because each 'lane' is assigned to a person or department and shows therefore who does what, when - which is the basic definition of a procedure.
It can be drawn horizontally (as in this template) or vertically. This template is editable and is created in MS PowerPoint format.
The swimlane is useful in Management Systems and is also good for training new employees, as it shows what you can expect to be given by others and what you must do before showing who you hand off the work too.
It can also be used as a great mapping tool to identify constraints in your processes.
